Another Monday, another week begins! Another day starts ...
I thought it would be fun to focus on children. What better way to do that than to share quotes by Captain Kangaroo? Now, I'm showing my age!
I grew up watching Captain Kangaroo (Bob Keeshan). It's fun to take a look at his quotes and think about how wise his words were and really are timeless.
Here he was, on television five days a week, yet he knew the importance of time away from t.v.!
I wonder what he would think of how much time we spend in front of screens now? I'm sure he would say to take time out from all of it. To enjoy time outdoors, with each other and to make sure we not just have quality time with our children, but enough time!
Below are some awesome Bob Keeshan quotes:
"Generosity has built America. When we fail to invest in children, we have to pay the cost."
"A child needs to be listened to and talked to at 3 and 4 and 5 years of age. Parents should not wait for the sophisticated conversation of a teenager."
"One of the big secrets of finding time is not to watch television."
"Children don't drop out of high school when they are 16, they do so in the first grade and wait 10 years to make it official."
