Asheville --   City of Asheville Press Release: City of Asheville offices will be closed on Thursday, June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.

Regular office hours will resume on Friday, June 20.

City services and schedules:
Transit service:
Asheville Rides Transit (ART) will run on a Sunday schedule.
Visit the City of Asheville Transit webpage for more information or stop by the ART Transit Center, 49 Coxe Ave.

Trash and recycling:
Trash, recycling, and brush collection will run on a normal schedule Monday – Thursday. Find your trash pick up schedule here.  

Asheville Parks & Recreation:
Most parks and greenways are open on a regular schedule of 6 a.m.-10 p.m.

Azalea, Carrier Park (west side), French Broad River, Recreation, and Richmond Hill parks remain closed, as well as the portion of French Broad River Greenway that runs through French Broad River Park.

All community centers and administrative offices are closed on Juneteenth.

Outdoor features such as playgrounds, picnic areas, and sports courts adjacent to community center buildings are open from 6 a.m.-10 p.m.
Riverside Cemetery offices are closed, though the grounds are open 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Some areas are inaccessible due to Helene-related damage.

The pool at Dr. Wesley Grant Sr. Southside Community Center is open 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

Admission is $3 per person.
Splasheville in Pack Square Park is open 9 a.m.-8:30 p.m.

The City of Asheville is proud to partner with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Association of Asheville-Buncombe County to present Juneteenth events from June 16-20 including films, discussions, and a dinner at Stephens-Lee Community Center and Asheville Downtown Association’s Downtown After 5: Juneteenth concert in Pack Square Park.

Regional Entertainment Facilities:
The Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville will be closed on Thursday, June 19. The HCCA Box Office summer hours are Tuesday – Friday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Asheville Municipal Golf Course  will be open regular hours
WNC Nature Center will be open regular hours
Aston Park Tennis Center will be open regular hours.
Water:
Water Resources staff will be available for water-related emergencies 24 hours a day over the holiday. Water production plants remain staffed 24-7 as is normal operational procedure.  Customers can call the customer service line at 828-251-1122 to report water-related emergencies, leaks, breaks and no water calls.

Emergency services:
All public safety services, including police, fire and emergency response, will operate to normal schedule – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
