
Traffic Stop in Jackson County Leads to Drug Charges
Jackson County -- Around 10:30 p.m. on June 14, 25th, deputies were patrolling the US-74 Balsam area. For a driving infraction, deputies performed a traffic stop.
Deputies observed the driver acting oddly. As part of their ongoing investigation, deputies called the Sylva Police Department to request canine assistance. The dog alerted to the presence of drugs.
Deputies found approximately 48 grams of suspected cocaine and 50 grams of suspected marijuana.
