Rutherford County Inmate Hospitalized

Rutherford County --  July 24, 2025: Rutherford County Sheriff's Office reported at around 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday, detention staff found an inmate experiencing a medical emergency.

They promptly started life-saving procedures and called the County's 911 Emergency Communications Center for assistance.  The lifesaving efforts were resumed shortly after the arrival of Emergency Medical Technicians/Paramedics from the Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Rutherfordton Fire Department.
 

The inmate was taken to Rutherford Regional Hospital by EMS.  Later, the prisoner was moved to another medical facility to receive more care.
