Two Found Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide

Jackson County --  Jackson County Deputies were called to the Broom Road, Tuckasegee area after someone reported seeing a man and woman lying outside a house with a gun close by.  

When deputies got there, they found the two subjects dead.  

To conduct an investigation, detectives were dispatched to the scene.  Investigators soon discovered that the public was not in danger.  

Investigators determined that the man was 60-year-old Christopher Lee Bowman.  The woman was identified as 71-year-old Ellen Dilling Jones.     
 Detectives concluded that Christopher Bowman had shot and killed Ellen Jones before turning the pistol on himself after conducting a comprehensive investigation.   The relatives of the deceased have been informed, but the motive is unknown.
