
APD Investigating Shooting
Asheville -- July 22, 2025 -- Early Sunday morning gunfire at a South Asheville apartment complex left one person hurt; Asheville Police are investigating the incident.
On July 20, at approximately 1:33 a.m., officers arrived at Ascot Point Circle to look into several complaints of gunfire at the complex. When police arrived, they searched the area and found six vehicles that had been hit by gunfire and more than a dozen shot casings.
Officers found out during the inquiry that a man had been shot during the incident and suffered a graze wound. The victim claimed that he heard gunshots and that one of the bullets touched his leg when a green Subaru Outback entered the complex. The victim refused on-scene medical care.
