Swimmer's Body Recovered from Lake Glenville at Pines Recreation Area

Pines Recreation Area, Lake Glenville, NC -- Search and recovery operations at the Pines Recreation Area concluded at 6:30 PM today with the tragic discovery of the missing swimmer's body.

The individual has been identified as Rafael Martinez Pascual, 38, who was last observed going underwater while swimming with friends in Lake Glenville.

The operation involved a coordinated effort from multiple emergency and rescue agencies. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office extended its appreciation to the following for their assistance:
