Buncombe County --  July 31, 2025 -- Press Release Buncombe County Sheriff's: Nicholas D J Ivers has been located and is in custody.

Ivers was found on a hiking trail by someone on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Buncombe County

around 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. A Park Ranger was notified and BCSO later confirmed it was Ivers. The circumstances around how he was located are part of our investigation. We will provide additional details as we are able.

Previous information: Ivers has active warrants for Felony Assault by Strangulation, Felony

Possession Schedule One, and Misdemeanor Assault on a Female Domestic Violence. Ivers is also a suspect in a Breaking and Entering on Appian Way. BCSO responded to a home around 12:55 p.m. Tuesday. Our SRT (Special Response Team) and Crisis Negotiation Team were
brought in as a precaution, and the home was cleared.
