
Man in Asheville Faces Gun and Drug Charges
Asheville -- August 6, 2025: Last night, detectives and officers from the Asheville Police Department apprehended a wanted felon in west Asheville who was in possession of drugs and a handgun.
Ramond Doquis Lester (10/08/1992) was contacted by APD investigators and officers on Granada Street at around 10:02 p.m. on August 5th as they were engaged in proactive enforcement in the west Asheville region. Lester was known to be wanted by the U.S. Marshals for an open warrant related to a weapons crime that violated federal probation. Investigations also revealed that he was in possession of drugs and a firearm by a felon. Lester was apprehended without incident.

-3.42g of methamphetamine

Lester was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $35,000 (or $3,500 to a bondsman) secured bond issued by a magistrate.
